New Yoga Classes in Lyneham
I have recently moved to the area and am delighted to announce that I am now offering yoga classes in St Michael’s Church Hall in Lyneham.
Yoga is an ancient discipline that has been enjoying a real surge in interest in the world of sports and mental health over recent years. Yoga is a great way to gain strength and flexibility with elite sports people as diverse as triathletes, rugby players and runners telling stories of improved performance and fewer injuries.
But Yoga is not just for the high performers. It is also a great way to get fit and lose weight for those of us who are less active with no one too unfit or too inflexible to join in.
There is also a growing body of evidence in medical circles that yoga reduces blood pressure, helps to manage stress and improves sleep for athletes and couch potatoes alike!
My classes are suitable for complete beginners and anyone who has done a bit of yoga in the past. I teach a flowing style of Hatha yoga with lots of options of poses to suit all ages and abilities. The classes run for just over an hour and start with a warm up and continue with yoga poses in standing, lying and sitting to gain strength and flexibility. The final 5-10 minutes of class is devoted to guided relaxation to calm the mind and body.
No special clothing is needed – loose, comfortable clothes or sports kit is ideal. We work in bare feet on rubber mats and I have a few mats available to rent for a small cost per class for anyone wanting to try yoga without having to buy their own mat. I do encourage people to have their own mat to bring along after a few lessons and these can be bought for under £10 in sports shops or on line.
Yoga is great fun and will make you feel better in so many ways – come along and find out for yourself! No need to book ahead, there is plenty of room for everyone.
Mondays 7 – 8.15 (ish) St Michael’s Church Hall
£9 per class £1 per class to rent a mat
Making your classes cheaper – pre-pay block passes available
£40 for 5 classes, £75 for 10 classes – no expiry date, use when suits you.
