Geoff Jackson-Haines – Chairman

I was born in the small village of Ford, just outside Chippenham. I was educated at Castle Combe school. At the age of 9 stared in the original Dr Doolittle Film, with the rest of the school. I then went to Chippenham School.
I have always lived in Wiltshire accept when I was in the Royal Air Force, during that time I was stationed at Lyneham twice. 1980-1982 and 1989–1997.
I currently work for Network Rail as a Local Operations Manager, managing five signal boxes. I have worked on the railway since 1998. Starting as a Crossing Keeper at Minety, then a Signaller at Swindon to my present role within the company.

I am married to Joy and have two children Dave and Vicky from my previous marriage. Dave is a Signaller at Didcot, Vicky lives locally and has the last remaining horse that we bred.

I have many interests. I represented RAF Stations at Equestrian one day events. A founder member of the Lyneham Saddle club stables. I have bred, shown and ridden Welsh Cob Ponies under the Oakhatch prefix. I have bred, shown and rescued Great Danes. I now help my wife with a number of Golden Retrievers we currently have, but still retain a great Dane.
I am a keen Motorcyclist and travel through Europe with my Son. We are also very keen aircraft enthusiast. Travelling the Country primarily to see cold war jets.

I joined the Parish Council because a neighbour asked to, not realising the work involved in being a Parish Councillor and just how much there is to be done. I also didn’t realise the complexity of the regulations that govern a Council. In May 2014 I was asked by the other Councillors to be the Chairman. To be head of such an enthusiastic and dedicated team of Councillors is in itself an honour
